Programs & Services

Beyond Emancipation uses an innovative coaching approach, Creative, Connected, Resourceful, Whole, throughout all our services.

Housing:

Provides a safe and stable base for youth as they learn to thrive as young adults.

Education:

Help youth secure their high school diploma or GED and enter post-secondary education.

Employment:

Prepare youth for a wide variety of living wage jobs and careers.

Transitions:

Support young people emancipating from foster care to help manage and overcome the challenges they face as they enter adulthood.

Consider the Facts

Each year, nearly 5,000 foster youth in California emancipate from the foster care system. In Alameda County between 300-400 youth leave foster care annually. With little education, few job skills, and often physical and mental health concerns, Alameda County’s emancipated youth are at very high risk for homelessness, substance abuse, unintended pregnancy, and incarceration.

Up to 50% of foster youth will experience homelessness at some point after leaving the system.
